About Lanterna Pirata Records

ITA: Lanterna Pirata Records è una piccola etichetta/distro do-it yourself fondata verso la fine del 2009 a Genova. Nasce con l'intento di promuovere l'etica di lavoro del d.i.y. e delle autoproduzioni nelle sue varie forme, principalmente attraverso la produzione e distribuzione di dischi e l'organizzazione di concerti punkhardcore. Uno degli obbiettivi primari delle nostre attività è quello di allontanare la musica, da sempre uno dei mezzi di comunicazione più universali ed efficaci, dalle logiche di profitto che mirano a renderla un prodotto da semplice intrattenimento e consumo, favorendo invece un approccio più "alla mano" e  più comunicativo nella diffusione di un qualcosa che crediamo fermamente essere un bene di tutti. L'abbattimento dei concetti di "palco" come altare sul quale esporre eghi smisurati e dell' "artista" come figura mistica, privilegiata ed inarrivabile. Punkhardcore ed autoproduzione come primari mezzi di diffusione per le idee ed i concetti che più ci stanno a cuore e che più vorremmo vedere rappresentati nella nostra società. Come forma di lotta ad ogni forma di razzismo, fascismo e repressione. Come presa di posizione e come stile di vita, non come moda.

ENG: Lanterna Pirata Records is a small Do-It-Yourself label and distro started in Genoa, Italy towards the end of 2009. It was born with primary goal of spreading the d.i.y. approach and mentality in all it's possible forms, mainly through the production and release of records and through the organzing of punk rock shows. One of our main intentions is to take the medum of music away from the logics of greed and profit that tend to make it a soulless product of mere entertainment and consumerism, in favour of a much more participated and generally practical approach. Taking down many barriers that the industry has put up, like the concept of a "stage" as a way of exposing giant egos and the idea of "artist" as a mystical, privleged and unarrivable figure. Hardcorepunk and d.i.y. ethics as primary means of communication for the ideas and concepts that are most important to us and that we would like to see more represented in our society. As a form of opposition towards any sort of racism, fascism and repression. As a clear choice and lifestyle, not as a fashion.
